I was invited to be a member of lecturing faculty for the Harvard-Yenching Institute’s Advanced Training Program, which was held at Waseda University, Tokyo, from June 25 to July 5, 2018, under the theme of “New Approaches in Asia-Pacific Studies.”  As part of the program, I gave two lectures on my two book projects, “Cold War Fantasy: How Ordinary People Shaped the Postwar World,” as well as “Purity and Order: A Social History of Globalization and Grassroots Conservatism in Wartime and Cold War Japan,” on June 27, 2018.

Other lecturers include David Armitage (Harvard), Andrew Gordon (Harvard), Eiichiro Azuma (UPenn), Timothy Brook (UBC), Alexis Dudden (UConn), and Louise Young (Wisconsin).
